This is the AgoProjects refresh of the Mercedes-Benz Cito O520 — the rare 1998-2003 diesel-electric hybrid midibus from EvoBus. The AgoProjects edition rebuilds the textures and refines the sound profile to better capture the Cito's signature constant-RPM acoustic signature, while keeping the compact 9.6-meter footprint and gearbox-free serial-hybrid drivetrain that made the original Cito unlike any other European city bus of its era.

About the Real Mercedes-Benz Cito O520

The Mercedes-Benz Cito O520 is a low-floor midibus produced by Mercedes-Benz subsidiary EvoBus at the Mannheim plant in Germany from 1998 to 2003. It pioneered serial diesel-electric hybrid drive for European city buses — a small constant-speed diesel engine powered a generator that fed electric motors at the rear wheels, eliminating the conventional gearbox and producing the constant-RPM acoustic signature that defined the Cito's character. Sold in 8.0-meter, 9.6-meter, and 10.6-meter variants with around 700 units built, the Cito was discontinued when Mercedes-Benz shifted the small-bus role to the conventional-drive Citaro K.
