Marcopolo VLP — São Paulo's Biarticulated Trolleybus Prototype

The Marcopolo VLP is one of the rarest buses in Brazilian history — Latin America's first bi-articulated trolleybus, a 25-meter prototype developed in the late 1990s by Marcopolo, Volvo and Powertronics for São Paulo's Fura-Fila corridor project. This conversion brings that experimental giant into Proton Bus Simulator, with its three independent modules, two articulation joints and period São Paulo livery. It runs on both Android and PC with six skins.

About the Real Marcopolo VLP

The Marcopolo VLP (Veículo Leve sobre Pneus) was Latin America's first bi-articulated trolleybus, a joint prototype by Marcopolo (body), Volvo (chassis) and Powertronics (electric traction) unveiled at ExpoBus 1998. Measuring about 25 meters across three independent modules — each driven by its own 120 kW electric motor — it was built for São Paulo's ambitious Fura-Fila corridor. The single prototype ran experimental service on the Parque D. Pedro II–Sacomã line in 2000 for about four months before the project stalled; the vehicle was never mass-produced, and the prototype was ultimately scrapped near the Marcopolo plant.
