The Nielson Diplomata 380 is the high-deck intercity coach that Carrocerias Nielson launched in June 1984, the company's first rodoviário body before Nielson became Busscar Ônibus in 1990. This Proton Bus Simulator mod packages the Mercedes-Benz O-371 RSD three-axle rear-engine chassis variant with eighteen 1980s and 1990s Brazilian operator liveries — Pluma, Saritur, Cometa, Viação Nordeste and more — a modeled interior, manual transmission, retarder and canvas-roll destination sign. Operate it on long-distance Brazilian highway routes as the premium classic-era coach.

About the Real Nielson Diplomata 380

Carrocerias Nielson was a Brazilian bus bodybuilder founded by the Nielson brothers in 1946, in continuous operation until 1990 when it was renamed Busscar Ônibus. In June 1984 the company launched the Diplomata 380, its first high-deck intercity rodoviário coach, on three-axle chassis from Scania K112, Volvo B10M and Mercedes-Benz (O-370 RSD and the O-371 RSD packaged here). The body measured 13.2 metres long and 3.9 metres tall, with 15 to 16.6 cubic metres of underfloor luggage hold. Diplomata 380 units served Brazilian intercity operators including Pluma, Saritur, Cometa and Viação Nordeste, which acquired Mercedes-Benz O-370 RSD examples in 1986. Busscar declared bankruptcy on 27 September 2012.
