The Mercedes-Benz Vario is a light-commercial truck and minibus platform Daimler produced from 1996 to 2013, with 90,743 units built across the run through Daimler-Benz, DaimlerChrysler and Daimler AG corporate eras. Assembly took place at the Ludwigsfelde plant in Germany and a secondary line in Alcobendas, Spain. The 614D variant runs a four-cylinder OM904LA 4.25-litre turbocharged diesel producing 136 hp and 520 Nm. In the Vario 614D Mobility minibus trim, the platform offered 16 seats on a 3700 mm wheelbase or 19 seats on a 4250 mm wheelbase, with low rear-entrance steps. The Vario succeeded the T2 family and was retired in favour of the Sprinter and Atego.
