Jelcz is a Polish bus and truck manufacturer based in Jelcz-Laskowice, Lower Silesia, with roots going back to the 1950s. The M081MB "Vero" belongs to a small family of compact Jelcz buses built on Mercedes-Benz Vario T2-family chassis, supplied by Daimler under a long-running cooperation. The "081" in the designation reflects the approximate length in decimeters, while the "MB" suffix marks the Mercedes-Benz chassis base. Sold mainly to smaller Polish municipalities and private operators, the Vero filled the gap between heavier Jelcz urban buses and conventional vans, serving low-passenger feeder lines and historic town centers with limited road clearance.
