About the Real Toyota Coaster

Toyota launched the Coaster minibus line in 1969 from its Hino-affiliated factory, refining the platform across four generations. The B40 generation, in production from 1993 to 2017, is by far the most widespread Coaster variant — exported globally to Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and Pacific island nations, where it serves as the default shuttle for hotels, schools, religious organizations, mining camps and informal lotação/jitney transit. Its longevity comes from a body-on-frame chassis designed for fleet-shop repairability in regions where modern monocoque minibus designs would be uneconomic to service.
