Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 411 CDI — First-Generation Shuttle Van

This is the Sprinter that became the default minibus of half of Eastern Europe. The 411 CDI is the facelifted first-generation T1N, the one with the rounded grille and the common-rail diesel, and it turned up on marshrutka routes everywhere from Moscow to Minsk. Seven liveries ship with it, alongside a manual gearbox, a modelled cabin and twin passenger doors.

About the Real Sprinter 411 CDI

The first-generation Sprinter, known internally as the T1N, launched in 1995 and ran until 2006, built at Düsseldorf and Ludwigsfelde. In February 2000 it received a facelift, and with it the CDI common-rail diesels that replaced the older direct-injection units. The 411 CDI sat in the 4.6-tonne W904 class and used the 2.2-litre OM611 producing 109 hp. Cheap to run and easy to convert, the T1N became the standard route-taxi across the former Soviet republics, where many still work today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this Sprinter run on Android?
Yes. It works on both the Android and Windows builds of Proton Bus Simulator and needs version 300 or newer. At roughly 15 MB it is among the smallest and fastest-loading mods available.
What does CDI mean on a Sprinter?
CDI stands for Common-rail Direct Injection, the diesel technology Mercedes introduced to the Sprinter with the 2000 facelift. On the 411 it means the 2.2-litre OM611 engine rated at 109 hp.
Is there an automatic gearbox?
No. This mod is manual only, which matches how most working examples were specified. Route operators bought them cheap and simple, and the manual box was the standard fit.
