Marcopolo Viale BRT Volvo B340M — Rio de Janeiro Articulated

The Marcopolo Viale BRT is Brazil's dedicated Bus Rapid Transit body, and this conversion rides the articulated Volvo B340M in the Rio de Janeiro BRT standard. At around 21 meters with a single articulation joint, it carries left- and right-side doors for central-platform stations, a driving interior, electronic destination signs, and animated articulation. It's built for Rio's high-capacity trunk corridors.

About the Real Marcopolo Viale BRT

The Marcopolo Viale BRT is a Bus Rapid Transit body built by Marcopolo of Caxias do Sul, Brazil, in production since 2011. Designed for high-capacity corridors, it is offered in both articulated and bi-articulated forms; the articulated Volvo B340M version measures about 21 meters. It entered service on Rio de Janeiro's BRT network — the TransOeste, TransCarioca and TransOlímpico corridors — where left-side doors let it load from central island stations, and it has also run in other Brazilian transit systems.
