Ruta SPV-15 — Ukraine's First Home-Built Marshrutka

The Ruta SPV-15 is what happens when a repair works decides to build its own bus. Chasiv Yar took the GAZelle chassis, dropped a taller hand-made body on it and produced Ukraine's answer to the route-taxi problem. This mod ships two variants: one with the roof-mounted route indicator box above the windscreen, one without. The tall glasshouse, steel-and-fibreglass panelling and single side door are all modelled.

About the Real Ruta SPV-15

The SPV-15 was the first minibus produced by the Chasiv Yar Repair Plant in eastern Ukraine, built from 1995 to 2003 on the GAZ-3302 chassis. Its body was original work rather than a converted van: a welded frame of rectangular tube, skinned in steel and fibreglass, standing 6,800 mm long and 2,730 mm tall. It seated fifteen, and a route indicator above the windscreen distinguished it on the street. In 2002 a taller-cabin update arrived as the SPV-16, and the SPV-17 followed later.
