About the Real Neoplan N40XX

Neoplan built the N4016 between 1988 and 1999, first in Stuttgart and later in Poland, as a 12-metre low-floor single-decker roughly 2.5 metres wide and seating somewhere in the low-to-high thirties depending on the operator's interior. Power came from a horizontal MAN or DAF engine paired with a Voith or ZF transmission. The N4014 and N4016 were developed as the low-floor answer to the VöV Standard-Bus generation that preceded them, and the family found buyers well beyond Germany — the N4016 was the first low-entry single-decker sold in the United Kingdom, with a batch delivered to Merseybus in Liverpool. The exact production window for the shorter N4014 is less clearly documented than the N4016's, so treat any narrower date range for that specific variant with caution.
