About the Real Neoplan N116 Cityliner Classic

Neoplan, founded in 1935 in Stuttgart by Gottlob Auwärter, became one of Germany's premier coach manufacturers before its 2001 acquisition by MAN Truck & Bus. The N116 Cityliner debuted in 1979 as Neoplan's single-deck flagship Reisebus, sitting below the iconic Skyliner double-decker in the touring catalog. The Classic generation — produced from 1979 through the late 1990s before the Facelift restyling — defined the sharp-angled Jetliner aesthetic that made the Cityliner a fixture of European intercity and tourist transport for two decades.
