About the Real Mercedes-Benz O-400 RSD

The Mercedes-Benz O-400 was the last integrated (monobloco) bus model that Mercedes-Benz do Brasil built at São Bernardo do Campo, with full Monobloco production running 1994 to 1996 before the lineup shifted to chassis-only assembly through 2004. Introduced in 1994 as a standardised range with one urban model and four coaches, the O-400 RSD was the high-deck rodoviário variant — 13.20 metres long, 6x2 chassis. Power came from the OM-447 LA turbocooler diesel producing 354 cv at 2,100 rpm. Successor: the Mercedes-Benz O-500 family. The model is remembered as an icon of late-1990s Brazilian highway service — the last Monobloco MB delivered went to operator Itapemirim.
