If one vehicle defines post-Soviet public transport, it is this one. The GAZ 3221 is the passenger version of the GAZelle, and it has been carrying people down Russian and Ukrainian streets since 1996. This is the largest pack in the catalogue by variant count: thirteen selectable builds and 86 liveries, spanning factory city trim, Luidor conversions, a luxury version, an older body and even a battered written-off look.

About the Real GAZ-3221

The GAZ-3221 is the minibus member of the GAZelle family, built on the 2705 van and seating thirteen. The first example rolled off the Gorky Automobile Plant line in January 1996, with series production following that March. It was updated steadily: an improved heater and ventilation from 2003, ABS from 2005, and restyles in 2003 and 2010 — the latter bringing the GAZelle-Business name. Cheap to buy and simple to fix, the 3221 became the standard marshrutka across Russia and its neighbours, and it remains in production today.
