About the Real Solaris Urbino 18

Solaris Bus & Coach was founded in 1996 in Bolechowo near Poznań, Poland, and launched the Urbino city bus family in 1999. The 18-meter articulated Urbino 18 is the long variant of the family, deployed across European transit operators from Warsaw and Berlin to Riga, Stockholm, Padua and dozens of smaller fleets. The third-generation Mk3, introduced in 2005, brought the now-iconic asymmetric front windshield — a raised section over the driver position that improved sightlines while becoming the family's strongest visual signature. The Urbino IV succeeded the Mk3 in 2014. The "Green Dachshund" mascot used in Solaris marketing remains tied to the Urbino family across all generations.
