About the Real LiAZ-6212

The LiAZ-6212 was the first series-produced articulated bus built in Russia. The Likino-Dulevo Bus Plant, east of Moscow, put it into production in 2002 and kept it there until 2014, filling a role that imported Ikarus articulated buses had covered across the Soviet era. At 17,640 mm long it carried a nominal 154 passengers, with roughly 300 hp from Caterpillar or Cummins diesels depending on the batch. The base 6212.00 — the version modelled here — used a Caterpillar-3126E paired with a Voith or Allison transmission, and accounted for about 1,161 of the buses built.
