The Volvo 7300 Intercity is a single-door diesel reconfiguration of Volvo's flagship Mexican 7300 chassis, built around the same Volvo DH12E Euro 5 12.1-litre engine that powers Mexico City's Metrobús fleet. This Proton Bus Simulator version, prepared by OhtliCarbus, swaps the urban high-capacity layout for a leaner intermunicipal configuration with one front door, six operator liveries and an interior tuned to longer-distance routes across the Mexican Federal District and surrounding regions.

About the Real Volvo 7300

The Volvo 7300 is the bus chassis that Volvo Buses México has built at its Tultitlán plant since 2014, designed around a horizontally-mounted Volvo DH12E Euro 5 12.1-litre engine rated at 340 horsepower with 1,700 Nm of torque. The platform is best known as the backbone of Mexico City's Metrobús BRT corridors and the Mexibús system, where articulated 18.15-meter and biarticulated 21.16-meter versions carry 160 and 240 passengers respectively. The same 7300 chassis also serves city and intermunicipal duties across the Federal District, with pneumatic suspension, full disc brakes and a Multiplex electrical system that has become the OEM standard for Mexican BRT and high-volume routes.
