About the Real Metalpar Iguazú II

The Metalpar Iguazú II is the second-generation urban bus body Metalpar Argentina built at its Loma Hermosa plant between 2009 and 2017. It was offered on multiple chassis — Mercedes-Benz OH 1618, OH 1718, OH 1621, OH 1721 and the O500U rigid plus the articulated O500UA, alongside Agrale and Volksbus options — and became one of the most widely used city-bus bodies in the country during the 2010s. The articulated O500UA version pairs the Iguazú II body with a super-low-floor 18-metre chassis powered by the rear-mounted Mercedes OM457LA diesel rated at 360 hp. Metalpar Argentina, founded in 1997 and 50% jointly owned with Marcopolo from 2010, closed in 2019. The Iguazú III succeeded the body line, relaunched in 2017.
