About the Real MAN SL200

The MAN SL200 was Germany's first-generation Standardlinienbus, built by MAN Truck & Bus between 1973 and 1988 on the shared VöV-Standard-Bus body specification that unified West German municipal fleets behind a common platform. Powered by a rear-mounted, naturally aspirated MAN D2566 inline-six diesel paired to an automatic transmission, it became the urban workhorse of cities from Hamburg to Munich and accumulated more than 5,500 left-hand drive units before being superseded by the SL202 in 1988.
