About the Real Ikarus EAG 395

Ikarus, founded in 1895 in Budapest, was for decades Eastern Europe's largest bus manufacturer, producing more than 200,000 vehicles before its 2007 closure. The E-Series replaced the long-running 200-family from the mid-1990s onward; the EAG (Express A-class with Scania driveline) 395 is the late-decade flagship variant, pairing Hungarian high-floor coach bodywork with Swedish-engineered Scania driveline tuning. The 395 saw regional intercity service across Hungary, Lithuania and Slovakia, becoming one of the final platforms to carry the Ikarus name onto European long-distance corridors before the brand wound down.
