The Ciferal Padron Rio Volvo B58 is a faithful recreation of one of Brazil's most iconic articulated city buses, pairing the Curitiba-built Volvo B58E chassis with the Padron Rio body launched by Ciferal in 1991. This Proton Bus Simulator mod captures the 4-door, two-section articulated layout that ran BRT corridors in Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba through the 1990s, with the original canvas destination roller, three-mirror cockpit and automatic transmission that defined the era.

About the Real Ciferal Padron Rio Volvo B58

Launched at the VII Brasil Transpo trade show in September 1991, the Ciferal Padron Rio body succeeded the Alvorada model and brought larger windows, dual rectangular headlights and a reinforced structure to Brazil's urban transit fleets. Mounted on the Curitiba-built Volvo B58E chassis — a modernized Brazilian adaptation of the original Swedish design with B10M transmission and suspension — the articulated configuration was delivered to Rio de Janeiro's COETC and Curitiba's express lines in batches between 1992 and 1996. Many units remained in operation through the 2010s, with surviving examples now preserved by Brazilian transport museums.
