About the Real Scania Citywide G

The Scania Citywide is Scania's city bus family, introduced in 2011 as the replacement for the long-running OmniCity and OmniLink lines. The Citywide is built at Scania Production Słupsk in northern Poland — Scania's dedicated bus assembly plant since the early 2000s — and is offered in low-entry (LE), low-floor (LF) and articulated (G) configurations from 10 to 18 meters. The G variant is the 18-meter articulated low-floor body, powered by Scania DC9 (9-litre 5-cylinder) or DC13 (13-litre 6-cylinder) engines meeting Euro 6 emission standards from 2014 onward, with optional CNG, biofuel, hybrid and battery-electric drivetrains across the family. The left-side-doors variant is Scania's factory option for BRT operators that use central island platforms — the operational standard in systems like TransMilenio (Bogotá), Curitiba's RIT corridors, Istanbul Metrobüs and Mexico City's Metrobús — where passenger boarding happens from the bus's left side rather than the conventional right.
