About the Real LiAZ-5256

The LiAZ-5256 is a high-floor, large-class city bus built by the Likinsky Bus Plant (LiAZ) in Russia. Serial production began in 1986 and ran, with many modifications, until 2021, with roughly 48,600 units produced. It replaced the gasoline-engined LiAZ-677, moving to a rear-mounted diesel (originally a KamAZ-740), three-door city layouts, and an 11.4-meter body. Over its long life it received numerous sub-models — including the .26, .53, .57, .60 and .65 covered by this pack — that updated engines and emissions toward Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards. The 5256 was one of the most common city buses across Russia and the CIS for over three decades.
