Busscar was a Brazilian coachbuilder founded in 1946 in Joinville, Santa Catarina, historically one of the major bus body manufacturers serving the Brazilian and Latin American markets before the company entered insolvency proceedings in 2012. The Urbanuss Pluss is Busscar's high-capacity urban bus body, designed for BRT (bus rapid transit) trunk-line operation and mounted on the Volvo B360S mid-engine chassis to achieve the 25-meter bi-articulated configuration. The platform is a defining vehicle of Curitiba's RIT (Rede Integrada de Transporte) — the world's first dedicated BRT system, launched in 1974 — and is also operated on São Paulo's high-capacity BRT corridors managed by SPTrans.
