About Otokar Bus Mods
Otokar was founded in 1963 as Turkey's first bus manufacturing company under a Magirus-Deutz license. Koç Holding — Turkey's largest conglomerate — purchased a major share in the early 1980s. In 1997 Otokar moved to new manufacturing facilities in Sakarya, Arifiye — a 552,000 m² plant — while also developing the Akrep and Cobra armoured personnel carriers from the early 1990s.
