About the Real Setra S 417 UL

The Setra S 417 UL is a 14-metre Überlandbus built in Germany by Setra, a Daimler subsidiary, from 2006 to 2020. The "UL" suffix marks the Überland (intercity/regional) configuration, distinguishing this variant from the urban "NF" Niederflur (low-floor) and the long-distance "GT-HD" coaches in the same MultiClass 400 family. Setra offered the S 417 UL with either the straight front or the angled "GT-Front," with seating typically configured between 61 and 63 passenger seats plus accompanying staff seats. The model used the OM 457 hLA engine through Euro 5/EEV, then switched to the OM 470 with common-rail injection from 2013 onwards to meet Euro 6 standards.
