The MAN SG 292 brings the late-1980s German Stadt-Gelenkbus into Proton Bus Simulator with four variant configurations, multiplex digital interior, and authentic rear-axle pusher drive. It captures the VÖV II generation Schubgelenkbus that MAN produced from 1986 to 1999 — a workhorse of municipal and regional fleets across Germany, Austria, and Eastern Europe.

About the Real MAN SG 292

The MAN SG 292 is a second-generation VÖV-standard articulated bus produced by MAN from 1986 to 1999. Unlike the earlier MAN SG 242 H, the SG 292 introduced the Schubgelenkbus (pusher-articulated) configuration where the rear axle drives the bus — MAN could only adopt this drive type after Daimler-Benz's patent rights on the articulation-angle control expired. The model was manufactured by Göppel in Augsburg, Germany, and saw service across German municipal fleets, Austria, and Eastern Europe before being succeeded by the MAN NG 313 and MANAŞ SG 313 in 1999. Surviving SG 292s still run special-purpose routes in heritage and tourist services today.
