About the Real MAN Lion's City GXL (A43)

The MAN A43 platform was introduced in 2007 under the "CapaCity" name as MAN's flagship 4-axle articulated urban bus, with production at MAN's plant in Starachowice, Poland. The chassis was rebadged "Lion's City GXL" when the wider Lion's City family was refreshed in the mid-2010s, but the underlying 20.5-meter 4-axle architecture with rear-axle steering remained unchanged. The A43 is one of the largest serial-production city buses in the world — designed for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems and the densest urban corridors where conventional 18-meter articulated buses cannot meet passenger throughput demand. The largest A43 fleet operates Tehran's BRT in Iran, with significant deployments also on Istanbul's Metrobüs network in Turkey, Hamburg's Hochbahn in Germany, Malmö in Sweden, and several Saudi cities.
